Project Description
Since 2000, the BTCS (Bangkok Mass Transit System) has transported passengers on 2 new lines which are separated and elevated from the urban traffic – with substantial advantages with regards to the journey times.
Siemens AG as head of the consortium together with the Italian Thai Development Public Company (ITD) was awarded the turn-key contract for the supply of a complete elevated metro system. Siemens was responsible for the M&E part, the training of the personnel as well as the start of operations; ITD took on the construction of the tracks and buildings.
