Project Description

The task was to prepare a new type of hybrid bus/tram which combines the advantages of a conventional bus and the positive assets of the tram for serial production based on technology which has been development over the last few years for the test vehicle AutoTram® as well as the tried and tested bus technology from the company Göppel Bus GmbH. An articulation system which passengers can walk through (similar to that of two train carriages) and which can be coupled and uncoupled as required, multi-axle steering mechanism, hybrid propulsion chain, compact traction motors, cycle-proof batteries and predictive energy management will be used. The business objective is to develop, test and get ready for market the complete system and the core technology for a new modular transport system step by step. It should be customer orientated and compliant with the standards.
